Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a uninhabited area of Montreal Island called West Island. The West Island, to those who are unfamiliar with it, is a vast area that extends from Lachine until the west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time there was short. Brugel lived in Courtice close to Oshawa. Early ambitions were to become a dancer. Then, a growth rate increased her height and she outgrew her dance partners she had. A Toronto Star article revealed she's 6 feet 1 inch tall and has heels. When I surpassed any male partner then I slowed down. There are many dancers who make the move into acting. As for Bruce, it was her drama teacher who nudged her into this path. The teacher suggested she try to get a role for school's annual production. She auditioned and was cast as Anne of Green Gables. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she was a theatre student and earned the Bachelors in Fine Arts in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel's been in over 60 productions both large and small. The most notable was the time she was cast as Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of Rita in the Handmaid's Tale the series produced over the course of ten years.
